A6. Yes, you can acquire foreign currency in cash. The permissible limit per traveler is below INR 50000 in cash. For amounts above that, you need to make a bank transfer.

A8. You can bring any amount of foreign currency into India. However, if the amount exceeds USD 5000 in cash or USD 10000 in the form of travelers’ cheques, it must be declared to customs authorities at the time of arrival.

A9. Yes, you can pre-book foreign currency for your travel. Please contact us in advance to ensure availability and to lock in the current exchange rates.

A10. If you lose your foreign currency, it is advisable to report the loss to local authorities and your country’s embassy or consulate. Unfortunately, we cannot replace lost currency.
